Whitney McMillen
Owner, Stylist
Over the last decade, Whitney worked her way from apprentice to stylist to now owner of Birmingham's newest salon. After several years in management and customer service, she found her dream career as a stylist and mentor to other artists. Dark Horse Salon is this dream come to life. In addition to color and cuts, Whitney is known throughout central Alabama for her extensions and transformative styles. She's been named by About Town as one of Birmingham's Best Stylists for three years.
MacKenzie Dean
Stylist
MacKenzie Dean attended the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute in Birmingham before launching her career as a stylist in 2021. She loves creating lived-in color looks and haircuts that transform her clients so they feel great about themselves in ways they never thought possible. MacKenzie also specializes in men's cuts and extensions and brings a great deal of energy to every appointment.
Parking
You are welcome to park on Morris Avenue in open spots. The parking lot on Morris directly across from the salon is a paid lot. You can park there, but parking will not be validated for this lot.
For proper parking validation, you will need to park in BPA Morris Ave. Lot 2 (2300 Morris Ave, Birmingham, AL 35203), a lot at the corner of 23rd Street and Morris Avenue.
After entering the lot, turn down the first row on the right, and go almost to the final building on the right. You'll be able to park here and walk across the paid lot to Dark Horse. This image (on left) shows the approximate parking location.
Make sure to bring your parking ticket so we can validate it before you leave.
